DisplacementMapFilter v2

Combining the displacementMapFilter v0 post and the recently added perlin Noise v3 we can now pseudo-randomly displace image pixels by using colors.  In this case the black and white color gradient is generate using perlin noise (click on show map to see).  The perlin movieClip becomes a map to distort my images.

If you make your perlin noise at half or quarter the size then apply a blur filter and scale it up it will have a massive performance improvement without a significant change in appearance (if you tweak the perlin settings to suite)

Hello,
I'm trying to make an effect like a paper falling on the table (first a cornet touches, then the paper falls on diagonal), using displacement maps. I've tried a lot of settings, maps for the filter, I just can't get it right. Can you please point me into the right direction? Thanks.

Very helpful. Was just starting to do this myself. Saved me some major time.
Thanks.
